Part-time princesses are part of a growing market of birthday party entertainment. But what is it like to don the ballgown and lead circle time with the kids?

Some princesses arrive by magic carriage. Some, though, have to drive themselves, squeezing their hoop skirts into a small sedan and freshening up with the rearview mirror.
